cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. add eggs one at a time. add the vanilla, mixing to combine.

in a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients and add to mixture alternating with sourcream and milk.

begin and end with the dry ingredients in 3 additions. dp not overmix.

spray tube pan with non-stick baking spray. pour batter into pan and level with a spoon. place on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes.

let cool for 10 minutes. remove from pan and let cool completely. brush cake with melted butter and then dust powdered sugar in layers.
