pulse the old-fashioned oats in a food processor. mix batter together until combined.

transfer the dough to an 8 x 8″ pan lined with parchment paper. bake until the edges are set and the top is golden brown.

cool the bars completely in the pan and then top with the vanilla icing. allow the icing to set before slicing into squares.
