Description
A thick, buttery chocolate chip cookie bar that comes together in one pan and less than twenty minutes in the oven. Be queen of the bake sale with these one pan wonders that everyone loves.

- 14 TBSP unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup minus 1 TBSP granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 cup plus 2 TBSP all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 heaping cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan with non stick spray and line with parchment paper
- In a small bowl, mix together flours, baking soda and salt
- Whisk to combine, set aside
- In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes
- Add the egg and vanilla and mix on medium until combined
- Slowly add the flour mixture, with mixture on low, until almost all the flour is combined but some bits still remain
- Remove from mixer and gently stir in chocolate chips
- Transfer to the batter into the prepared baking pan and level the top with a spatula
- Bake 18-20 minutes until golden brown and center is set
- Cool on a wire rack and cut into squares
Notes
If you do not have bread flour available, substitute all purpose flour
Store tightly covered in a cool, dry place
